“The forum shared lessons learned and exchanged directions to strengthen cooperation between Vietnam and Finland in improving the quality of vocational education; enhance opportunities for cooperation between vocational education institutions and Finnish training institutions,” Mr. Le Tan Dung emphasized.

Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung asked Ambassador Keijo Norvanto to continue to be a bridge to coordinate and promote cooperative activities in the field of vocational education such as: building and developing Finnish training facilities; build a training quality assessment system that meets international standards; connecting Vietnamese vocational education institutions with Finnish businesses in Vietnam; develop and improve capacity for managers and teachers; Choose to support technology transfer and training programs for occupations that are Finland’s strengths.

Regarding bringing Vietnamese workers to work in Finland, Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung said that although Vietnam and Finland have not signed an agreement on labor cooperation, labor cooperation between Vietnam and Finland is evaluated. is one of the promising areas of cooperation in the near future.

To achieve the goal of attracting 50,000 employment-based immigrants to Finland by 2030 and 250,000 by 2050, in the two years 2020-2022, the Finnish Government has launched a pilot recruitment program called Promote Talent Boost program aims to attract workers, experts and start-up entrepreneurs to Finland.

“Finland has identified Brazil, India, Türkiye and Vietnam as four priority countries to attract workers to work in Finland,” said Ambassador Keijo Norvanto.

On that basis, Ambassador Keijo Norvanto requested the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to pay more attention to promoting cooperation in the field of labor between the two countries, specifically to soon study and sign the Agreement. Ambassador Keijo Norvanto mentioned that in January 2025, the Finnish Minister of Labor will visit Vietnam. At that time, it is necessary to have a bilateral meeting between the leaders of the two ministries to further promote cooperation in the field of labor between the two countries.

Ambassador Keijo Norvanto looks forward to receiving close coordination from the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Finnish Embassy in Vietnam to discuss and agree on work contents in the coming time.

Agreeing with Ambassador Keijo Norvanto’s proposal on promoting cooperation in the field of labor, Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung assigned the Department of International Cooperation and the Department of Overseas Labor Management to discuss with the Embassy’s focal point.
