On January 06, 2020, in Hanoi, Minister of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung had a meeting with the Senior Delegation of the Fidesz – Hungarian Civic Alliance led by Mrs. Katalin Novak, Vice President of the Fidesz – Hungarian Civic Alliance, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Human Resource. At the meeting, the two sides shared many issues relating to enhance the cooperation on labour, employment, social security between the two countries in the forthcoming time.

At the meeting, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung affirmed that Vietnam always respect the good traditional friendly relationship with Hungary. Hungary is one of the important partners in the field of labour and social affairs in Europe, especially, in the context of Vietnam – EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and Investment Protection Agreement was signed after 9 years of negotiating.

In the coming time, Vietnam spends the especial attention to develop the high quality human resource. Therefore, Vietnam hopes to cooperate with Hungary in the issue of labour, employment and social security. Foreseen, in this year, the Minister will have a working trip to Hungary to discuss on the labour cooperation.

Mrs. Katalin Novak thanked the Minister for the meaningful meeting, She said that Hungary has been impressed by the economic development results of Vietnam. Moreover, together with economic development,Vietnam has successes in the work of poverty alleviation. She also highly appreciated the labourers came from Vietnam for the hard-working and good integration and contribution for the socio-economic development of Hungary.

According to Mrs. Katalin Novak, Hungary have been facing to the aging population issue. Currently, the fertility rate of Hungary is 1,23 births/woman. Since 2011, Hungary has applied many measures, policies to improve the population and the birth rate increases to 1,5 births/ woman. However, to compare with the real demand on population development, Hungary should effort to find out the measures and the steps to increase the population.

Currently, there are some industries lacking of the skilled labour, such as: social security, medical care,…. She also shared that in some industries, Hungary would temporary import human resource through the organizations. Developing the human resource based on the social demand, market, and enhancing the vocational training, cooperation on the industry as requirement of the society.

Minister Dao Ngoc Dung thanked Mrs. Katalin Novak for the information shared at the meeting. He said that, the issue of aging population was not the problem of each country separately. Vietnam has been in the last period of the gold population, as the forecast, at the end of the year of 2040, Vietnam would step in the period of aging population and the speed of aging population would be fastest on the world. Vietnam has many industries lacking manpower. Morever, Vietnam always want to choose the reliable partners with the good living and working environment.

At the meeting, the Minister recommended that Hungarian Embassy to Vietnam would cooperate with the relating Departments of MOLISA to discuss on the direction of the bilateral cooperation in the forthcoming time on the issues social secutity, medical care,… The Minister said that the cooperation would bring the benefit for both countries.
